  • The agreement adds more than 850 BP Pulse charge points at over 95 North American locations to ChargeHub’s roaming platform.
  • BP Pulse has connected more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations to ChargeHub’s Passport Hub, allowing drivers to find, access and pay through the ChargeHub app and other connected platforms. The announcement does not specify rapid-charger counts or whether every point is available through every partner.

BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub’s Passport Hub, adding more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations to the North American roaming network. The integration lets EV drivers locate, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app, according to the announcement.

The sites will also be available to users of other e-mobility service providers and automakers connected to Passport Hub. Passport Hub is ChargeHub’s roaming platform, linking charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers. It is intended to let drivers use existing apps and services across multiple networks rather than registering separately with each charge point operator.

For BP Pulse, the agreement extends the reach of its North American network by making its infrastructure available through more third-party platforms. ChargeHub gains another charging network for its roaming ecosystem.

The announcement gives the total number of charging points and locations but does not say how many are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers. It also does not specify whether all 850-plus points are available through every Passport Hub partner.

Executive comments

Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse’s VP of EV charging for the US, said the partnership expands access to the BP Pulse network through trusted roaming partners. He added that charging networks working better together benefits the EV ecosystem and is an important step toward accelerating EV adoption.

ChargeHub CEO Simon Ouellette said a network such as BP Pulse connecting through Passport Hub signals that the hub model has become the way roaming is handled in North America. Because it is a hub, he said, the impact extends beyond the ChargeHub app: eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem can offer drivers access to BP Pulse fast chargers through connections they already have. When one major network joins, he added, the whole ecosystem improves at once.
